LAWTELL THE ART CAT - Sea Apple

Sea Apple

Roll over, or touch (if on your phone), the image

Hullo, it’s me, your fearless leader Lawtell. Well, maybe not fearless, but occasionally brave. This painting portrays a sea apple; that’s a type of sea cucumber. No, it doesn’t have to make sense, but it’s true. This particular Australian creature, with its startling colors, inhabited a tank at the Aquarium in New Orleans. It looks like something from outer space, a feathery UFO. Fierce, to scare away predators, because really sea apples are just soft little things, like me. I had a hard lesson in a mud puddle one New Year’s Eve. Ended up with stitches on my head after being attacked by a big bully alley cat. I learned that the best way to fight is to scare your opponent away before anything starts!

Roll over the image above and see my ferocious demeanor and armor. Yowl!!! I am ready to run with Elmer Fudd and Kill the Wabbit (otherwise known as the Ride of the Valkyries, 1957 cartoon version). I don’t know if the cartoon is online, but Wagner’s tune definitely is. You may know it from Star Wars. Click on the arrow below to hear some of it (and me).

If you put this painting on your wall, you can create your own extraterrestrial enclave. A great place to be nowadays, wouldn’t you say?

Sincerely meow,
